Connection possibilities for CONTACTUM Consumer units

Parts are only reccommended for metal clad consumer units and Contactum do not consider insulated units as servicible componants

Notes on MCB fitment

Contactum state that the current Defender range of RCD's and MCB's are not compatible with Insulated consumer units

UPGRADING RCD SIZE

Upgrading existing RCD amp size is possible in metal consumer units (DEFENDER) however this comes with a list of requirements

Lift the lid/MCB cover of the consumer unit and look for a sticker with an INA rating (this is a amp rating for the consumer unit)

If no INA rating sticker: 63amp RCD's connot be upgraded. 80 amp RCD's can be upgraded but THE TOTAL LOAD MUST NOT EXCEED 80 AMPS

If there is an INA rating 80 Amp rcds can be upgraded without replacing cables but the total load cannot exceed the INA rating.

If there is an INA rating of 80 or 100 and the existing RCD's are 63 amp they can be upgraded but the load cannot exceed the INA rating

TRI-RATE CONNECTION

Tri-Rating is not supported for these consumer units!
